George Guest, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, at The Galway Hospice, surrounded by his loving family. His passing marks the end of a life well-lived, leaving behind a legacy of love and memories to cherish.
George was predeceased by his parents, George and Lily, his infant sister Mary, and his grandsons Cormac (Jnr) and Jack. He is survived by his wife, Mary, and their seven children: Karen, Louise, George, Jillian, Niamh, Marie, and Clodagh. George's passing will be deeply felt by his family, including his sons-in-law Bryan, Paul, Cormac, Robert, and James, his 13 adoring grandchildren, his siblings Michael, Helen, Nora, Joan, and Deirdre, and a wide circle of friends and relatives.
The family invites you to join them in honoring George's life. Reposing at The Holy Family Funeral Home, Mervue (H91 FH52), on Sunday, January 4, from 5:00 p.m., followed by a removal at 6:30 p.m. to the adjoining church. A Requiem Mass will be held on Monday, January 5, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral procession to The New Cemetery, Bohermore (H91 V97C).
The funeral mass will be livestreamed via ChurchTV (https://www.churchtv.ie/mervue/). Due to privacy concerns, the house will be private.
